Union KC started in the WPSL in 2023 and added a U21 team in 2024, which competed in the WPSL U21 Central Conference. This second team expands the player pool and provides more opportunities for female athletes in the Kansas City area.
Our senior WPSL team completed their second season at 8-1-1, finishing first in the Heartland Conference, and qualifying for regional playoffs and made it to the Elite 8. Union KC’s U21 team went 8-0-1 in their first season, also finishing first in their conference. It was a great season all around for both teams.
Head coach, Dan Naidu, was named 2024 Coach of the Year for the Heartland Conference. This was Dan’s second season as head coach for Union KC’s WPSL program.

As of 2023, the WPSL is still the longest-active women’s soccer league in the United States and with a membership of 120+ teams, it’s also the largest women’s soccer league in the world. Its national footprint stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific and down to the Gulf with teams in 29 of the 50 U.S. states. The WPSL holds a 15.3% annual growth rate and has averaged 31 expansion teams each season since 2016.
Adhering to its mission of providing the highest level of development opportunities, WPSL team rosters consist of elite female players from collegiate, post-collegiate, international, and standout prep athletes.
